No matter how much the forces of the system and the media, both in our country and abroad, distort reality and spread propaganda, they cannot hide the truth that the real instigators of war are the imperialists of the US-NATO, the (only) murderous state, Israel, and the Europeans who follow them.
- No matter how much they invoke “democracy” (those who support the worst regimes, such as Saudi Arabia)…
- No matter how much they invoke nuclear weapons (those who are the first to use them and threaten the entire planet)…
- No matter how much they invoke defense (those who have attacked almost every country in the world)…
…they cannot hide the reality: that the capitalist-imperialist system is opening another dangerous war front, against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, bringing closer the possibility of widespread slaughter for the peoples.
This barbarity and the dead ends of the system are revealed by the attack on Iran. The US, NATO, the EU, Russia, and China, in their competition with each other, do not take into consideration the people who will be slaughtered or the countries that will be destroyed. With military conflicts spreading everywhere, from Latin America to the Middle East, from threats in Greenland to the war in Ukraine!
Are we involved?
People all over the world are worried and anxious! Just like us, especially after the two attacks on neighboring Cyprus. And we are right to be worried!
Because, no matter how hard the local bourgeois system (which wears cufflinks with the American flag) tries to convince us that “the range of the missiles does not reach us,” that “we are fully armed and protected,” that “we belong to powerful alliances with protectors,” they cannot hide the reality that they themselves admit and defend: “we are by definition involved, because we are with NATO, with the US, with Israel,” “we have chosen sides”!
That is why they are sending frigates and fighter jets to Cyprus: to declare once again their allegiance to their imperialist masters.
These bosses (the US, NATO, and the EU) have been brainwashing us for so long, telling us that they are “here to protect us” and “to ensure peace and stability,” and now, ON THEIR OWN RESPONSIBILITY, they are bringing war to our neighborhood! These are the protectors of the local bourgeoisie! These are the ones responsible for making both our country and Cyprus targets of this military engagement!
We do not need (nor do we want) protectors!
“We are with the West, we have no other choice!” That’s what they tell us, preparing us for the “coffins with flags.” The system brings the devastation of war into our daily lives. Of course, the people will pay for the economic consequences of these developments: with higher prices, lower wages, and smaller pensions. But also with fascism, which goes hand in hand with the politics of war!
The people, the workers, the youth, we cannot be spectators in this situation! We must intervene decisively and en masse. We must form our OWN VOICE! Our own interests! And it is beyond and outside the plans of the imperialists! It is against them!
Let us strengthen the anti-war, anti-imperialist struggle. Our real and only prospect for preventing and stopping the war. We, the people, have the power! Let us discuss everywhere (in neighborhoods, unions, associations), let us organize to fight!
