A war that brings the theater of conflict to the European continent (the theater of the two world wars), directly involving the imperialists of the U.S., Russia, and Europe. A war that generates, fuels, and exacerbates tensions and developments across the entire planet.

These developments also include the fire that the U.S. imperialists and their watchdog, Zionist Israel, have set ablaze in the Middle East. Developments in Iran (with the bombings continuing and the “memorandum of understanding” in danger of falling apart) show that the U.S. imperialists —despite their failure so far—will not give up on their quest to bring Iran under their control and sever all its ties with Russia and China. The ongoing genocide of the indomitable Palestinian people by the murderous state of Israel, which is supported and directed by the U.S. imperialists, and the unrelenting slaughter of the people of Lebanon, reveal the barbarity of today’s rotten imperialist-capitalist system.

It is clear that Trump’s administration—and American imperialism as a whole— not only have no intention of moving toward any form of introversion, but will intensify the confrontation with imperialist Russia and the resurgence of Chinese social-imperialism. It will attempt to address the mismatch between its goal of global hegemony and the means at its disposal. It is this conflict among the major imperialist powers (the U.S., Russia, and China) that is driving the militarization of economies and societies, the rise of fascism, and the preparation of the conditions for a Third World War.

In this period—which is difficult for the peoples and the proletariat—we must be clear that the struggle against war and imperialism is the responsibility of the working-class and popular masses, and of them alone. This is a fundamental conclusion drawn from the historical course of the class struggle and the struggle of the peoples. We must defend this conclusion and also highlight it in the struggle of our peoples. For the defeat and restoration of capitalism have led to the political and ideological disintegration of the masses and the communist movement worldwide. It is this disintegration that has given rise to reformist and counterrevolutionary views, which see the future of the peoples side by side with the imperialist murderers, who cannot recognize any right of the working-class movement to revolution and emancipation unless it is granted to it by its exploiters. The peoples do not need protectors!

This disintegration is currently giving rise to views that seek to pin the hopes of the peoples on Russian imperialism, reactionary regimes in the East, and anyone other than the peoples themselves and their struggle—which is independent of the system of exploitation. It is this perception that leads the proletariat and the peoples to believe that, ultimately, they need protectors and cannot build their own society free from exploitation and oppression.

Capitalism-imperialism not only demonstrates on a daily basis its inability to offer a way out for the peoples and the working class, but also creates new, even more acute dead ends. Faced with this situation, we believe that today—more than ever—a People’s Front of Struggle against war and imperialism is necessary. A broad and organized front, centered on the peoples and the working class, who are the only ones capable of charting a course away from the total war and nuclear catastrophe being prepared by capital and imperialism. Capitalist-imperialist domination is not inevitable; it is not unshakable. Let us take as an example the struggle of the heroic Palestinian people, who—despite the overwhelming superiority of their opponents—persist in resisting with weapons in hand. They persist in fighting for a single state stretching from the sea to the river and for the destruction of the Nazi-Zionist entity of Israel, despite the sellout and bankrupt “two-state” solution in the region, which much of the left is dragging its feet behind. Because it understands that the two-state solution, promoted by the imperialists, is not only unrealistic but also an expression of the subjugation of the peoples.

By the same token, we believe that the movement must be built not only in our country but also in the broader region of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Balkans. What is needed is an autonomous course for our people’s movement and for the working class. We do not choose between the various versions of the system. We fight against electoral illusions and the illusion of a different form of government. What the people need today is to understand that power lies in mass struggle and organized struggle, not in elections. That the only change will come through confrontation with the subservient local ruling class, which obeys the orders of its imperialist masters (the U.S. and the EU) and has turned the country into a springboard for their war plans.

This line—of struggle against imperialism and its local lackeys—is the line that can unite the peoples of the Balkans and the Eastern Mediterranean against the hatred and nationalism sown by the bourgeoisie. The line of friendship, solidarity, and the common struggle of the peoples against imperialism and war can forge internationalist solidarity and organized opposition to the system of exploitation.

To that end, in February 2025, we organized the Internationalist Anti-War Anti-Imperialist Meeting in Athens, featuring contributions from 14 different organizations and activists from around the world, which also led to the creation of iabulletin.org (International Anti-Imperialist Bulletin). To provide a permanent and open channel for communication, information, and the exchange of views among these organizations regarding the issue of war. To provide information on any existing anti-war and anti-imperialist coordination initiatives, as well as to serve as a forum for communication with any other militant, anti-imperialist, and revolutionary organizations and collectives. To that end, we would like to take this opportunity to invite any organization that wishes to participate in the ongoing dialogue and contribute with written materials and statements. We believe that the concerns and views that will be expressed today as part of this process can contribute to, and must be developed and argued in order to clarify the organizations’ positions and the direction of the struggle. This process is important and necessary.

We extend our warmest regards to your operations.

Comrades, We are living in the era of imperialism—the highest stage of capitalism—which is, in fact, in the midst of a deep and structural crisis, at a time when all forms of competition have intensified and the possibility of a widespread conflict is not the plot of a dystopian science-fiction film, but the inevitable outcome […]

[2

post-711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
